Bottle shop supports ISO customers with new delivery service
With pubs and registered clubs forced into COVID-19 shutdowns, Australians have looked to their local bottlos such as Fleet Street Collaroy Plateau Cellars on Sydney’s Northern Beaches to help them survive the thirsty work of home isolation.
With pubs and registered clubs forced into COVID-19 shutdowns, Australians have looked to their local bottlos such as Fleet Street Collaroy Plateau Cellars on Sydney’s Northern Beaches to help them survive the thirsty work of home isolation.
The busy cellar stocks a wide range of Australian and imported wines, spirits, champagnes and beer. Customers can also ask for the local specials which include limited released wines from family-owned vineyards the cellar owner Jim Wilton has known for many years. The liquor outlet is also renowned for offering wine advice and tips on new wine labels.
Moreover, Wilton admits he is one of the lucky ones who has managed to continue to trade as usual, as bottle shops are is considered an ‘essential service’.
He says, “I am proud of the fact I can pay all of my bills on time which has a knock-on effect to the business as it enables us to operate and pay my employees, which helps get them through this tough time also.”
Putting his customers’ needs first
Wilton recognised he needed to introduce delivery service to his surrounding suburbs to cater to customers, who preferred the safety of their homes. He quickly contacted MYOB Loans, powered by OnDeck, to secure funding. Wilton says, “I intend to use the funds to buy a new delivery vehicle that will enable me to increase sales by offering an alcohol delivery service.”
Working with OnDeck is seamless
The experience with OnDeck “has been effortless”, according to Wilton. “All it took was one phone call in the morning and the funding was approved by lunch. The funds were released the same afternoon.
“I could not have expected anything better.”
